Review: Fallen Angel

Nestled in the heart of Mousehole, Cornwall, lies a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by those seeking the ultimate romantic escape. As someone who always seeks out unique and luxurious accommodations, my recent stay at Fallen Angel exceeded all expectations, offering a truly unforgettable experience that epitomized romance and tranquility.

Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the unparalleled beauty of Fallen Angel's location. Perched on the edge of the sea, this private oasis offers breathtaking views and seclusion from the outside world. Accessible only by foot, it provides the perfect setting for a romantic getaway, with charming cafés, restaurants, and bars just a stone's throw away.

As I stepped through the Moroccan gate and entered the sub-tropical garden, I felt as though I had entered a world of enchantment. The architectural design by Studio West Architects was nothing short of inspiring, blending seamlessly into the lush landscape. The combination of traditional granite walling, modern rubber cladding, and shoe sugi ban larch created a striking exterior that was both elegant and unique.

Inside, Fallen Angel revealed itself as a sanctuary of luxury and comfort. Every detail, from the bespoke wooden frame to the ghost-patterned porcelain tiles imported from Spain, spoke of meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail. The interior design, sourced from across the globe, offered a blend of sophistication and warmth, with handcrafted encaustic tiles, antiquities from Jodhpur, and ethically sourced teak creating a sense of timeless elegance.

The upper deck, devoted to living, provided a spacious and inviting space to relax and unwind. From the sumptuous sofas to the egg-shaped wood burner, every element was designed with relaxation in mind. Floor-to-ceiling glazed windows offered panoramic views of the sea, allowing me to bring the beauty of the outdoors inside.

Descending the stunning stair tunnel, I found myself in the bedroom, where a floating bed topped with Egyptian cotton awaited. A roll-top stainless steel bath for two overlooked the lower garden, offering a luxurious retreat after a day of exploration and the walk-in shower with a private view over Mousehole provided yet another opportunity to immerse myself in the natural beauty of Cornwall.

Outside, the landscaped garden provided a tranquil escape, drawing inspiration from Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, it combines traditional dry-stone walls with sub-tropical plants, creating a haven of peace and serenity, a perfect to sit with a cold glass of wine while you watch the sun set over the Harbour.

Fallen Angel, was more than just a place to rest my head; it was a sanctuary of love and romance, a testament to the beauty of Cornwall and the warmth of its people. And as I walked through the narrow backstreets of Mousehole back to my car, I knew that I would carry the magic of Fallen Angel with me wherever I went.
